Folsom High School graduate McKenzie Forbes is headed to the WNBA after being selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the third round of the 2024 draft. Forbes' journey took her from Folsom to Cal, Harvard, USC, and now the pros. "It's an incredible feeling. So many things have to go right," Forbes said.

Folsom Approves Funding for Johnny Cash Art Sculptures

The Folsom City Council has approved funding to honor legendary singer Johnny Cash with a series of public art sculptures. The first of eight planned sculptures, a seven-foot-tall guitar pick, will be placed near Rainbow Bridge as part of the Johnny Cash Trail. The artwork will tell the story of Cash's famous 1968 live concert and album recorded at Folsom State Prison.

The sculptures, crafted in bronze by Romo Studios in Sacramento, will be placed along the 2.5-mile trail that already attracts around 12,000 visitors per month.

🛋 7 Home Staging Strategies to Impress Buyers

Home staging is a proven strategy to highlight your home's best features and attract buyers. According to the National Association of Realtors, 81% of buyers say staging helps them visualize the property as their future home. Use these tips to get your home sale-ready:

Declutter & Depersonalize: Pack up personal items, photos, and excess furniture to create a clean slate. This allows buyers to focus on the home's potential.

Boost Curb Appeal: First impressions count. Maintain landscaping, add potted plants, and refresh the front door for an inviting entrance.

Go Neutral: Repaint in versatile neutral tones to appeal to a wide range of buyers. Neutral decor provides a backdrop for buyers to envision their own style.

Prioritize Key Spaces: Focus staging efforts on the living room, kitchen, and primary bedroom. Arrange furniture to maximize space and highlight functionality.

Maximize Lighting: Let in natural light and update fixtures where needed. Good lighting makes the space feel larger and more welcoming.

Add Finishing Touches: Small details like fresh flowers, plush towels, and staged place settings help buyers connect emotionally and imagine living in the home.

Highlight Unique Features: Draw attention to your home's most marketable assets, like a large closet or outdoor living space, to set it apart from the competition.

Effective staging can decrease time on the market by 33-50% and generate a 6-20% higher sale price. By implementing these tips, your home will stand out, attract more buyers, and sell faster.
